I am posting this for a friend who bought this car in 2009 off of ebay thinking he bought a real Z/28, that being said, this is the nicest clone out there, someone went to great lengths to recreate this Z. He had Jerry MacNeish inspect the car and found out it has a repro trim tag and restamped engine. The car has many upgraded options including tinted glass, power windows & locks, rear defrost, console & gauges, disc brakes, M-21, tilt steering column, power steering, am-fm radio (not working), added rally sport equipment, and deluxe houndstooth int.
The engine has 8586 miles since rebuilt, it runs very strong and sounds very good with the headers & magnaflow exhaust. The engine is restamped and was built with the following components, 0.30 over TRW forged pistons, Eagle ESP H beam rods, 140 Comp Cam, chrome moly pushrods, 2.02 valves w/hardened seats & triple angle valve job w/roller rockers. The 12 bolt rear w/4.10 gears is from a 70 Nova, the tires have less than 500 miles on them.
If you have any questions, you can call me, I have seen the car in person, and I will put you in touch with the owner. The car is located in Dubois, PA.
Price is $45k

The owner is 69 years old, he had his friend, who is a Ford guy inspect the car for him before he bought it. I did send the VIN to Kurt Sonen to see if he had anything on it in the CRG database, and nothing came up.

What a kick in the nuts. Sorry for your friend. No recourse with the previous seller? Very nice looking 69, should sell quick. That one would have fooled most of us I think.

Why fake a tag , put a frost green code on it and then paint the car yellow ?:hmmm:

Yeah I know, does not make sense to me. The car came from NY makes you want to stay away form NY eBayer's.

What's with the NY beef???
Just kidding... Just kidding...
Sounds like way less of a NY location issue and way more of a dishonest seller situation

Too bad he got taken as that tag is an obvious bad one. Its a nice clone, just not sure what the market bears for that. I think there are buyers that dont care, they just like the look.

Is it possible the tag came off another car or is it known that it's been reproduced.

I would agree, considering what a real one's are now. Great Ebay "Z" for 45k.

Can we get the name of the dirt bag who glued this car together?
I think we need to track these wizards for future protection.
