There is one on e-bay auction #323298930190. Listing says it's for a turbo 350/400 I would be sure to confirm it is in fact for a 3 speed not a glide. That is the shifter only. I have never seen another bezel. The pictures you posted are of my shifter and bezel. That bezel is so rare I won't send it out to be rechromed I'm afraid it would get lost.

That is one rare piece indeed. I don't think I have EVER seen one for sale let alone one in a car.

I hear ya. I have everything but the bezel and the mounting ring. I was watching that one and let it go because the mounting ring is different than I need. In other words, I have everything that is there.
There is a guy on facebook who has one, but one minute he will sell it, next minute he won't He's turning out to be a flake I wouldn't trust with my money anyway.
Thanks for being ok with my posting your pictures. There aren't a whole lot of them out there.
I found a solution that may have to work until I find one. I would use a factory non console ring with it. I saw this somewhere, can't remember where anymore. It's not quite what I had in mind, but it's better than staring at shifter guts.

They are extremely rare,
I had a project 68 RS/SS L35 lemans blue blue dlx bench in the late 80's with that shifter... a CRG member Tinkerr owns and is finishing the car up now.

It fits in the exact position a 67 auto floor shifter would, same hole configuration, it was available with the BENCH FRONT SEAT, which is how my old car was ordered.

I forget if mentioned previously but these are similar to some Chevette Auto Shifters.
Earlier years may've been flatter but 79? and up had the rounded topside...again, similar to the M11 but not the same.
Sorry for the poor pic below but best I can do from my work system.
Best of luck w/ your quest!
:beers:

Pete, That is something I would not have known. Thank You for the tip ! It might work as a hole filler until I find the right stuff.
William, Unless I got snaked on my wanted ad, what are you looking for out of the seal ?
Thanks all !

got a question. if you order automatic and don't get a console with a Pontiac you by default get a column shift. how did this work on chevy? was this an option you checked off to get this floor shifter? reminds me of a 64-66 mustang.

The floor shifter in the pic's is option M11, I believe column shifter was standard. I have wondered if it was possible to order that shifter with bucket seats. and if any were ordered. I suppose you would have to look at dealer order forms to determine what was available.

The man who ordered my old 68 RS/SS 396 new said he specifically ordered the car with the M11 because he wanted a floor shifter and the bench seat so his girl friend could sit right next to him, I said you could have gotten a 4 speed... he replied "then my hand would have been preoccupied and she may not be my wife"

I originally thought the piece was out of a pinto or mustang II when I bought my 68 camaro.. when there was a GM part number on the inside I started doing research.

He took it out of his '68 and knew exactly what it was. It was the facebook guy I mentioned earlier. He appeared out of the woodwork a week ago and we got the deal done. I held my breath when I opened the box. Lol. I wasn't disappointed fortunately.
They certainly have the Mustang II look to them. I expect to have to explain to everyone what the hell it is and that it is indeed correct.

If your attending shows display the 68 assembly manual. There are 7 pages dedicated to the shifter assembly that should quiet any doubters.

I was thinking that having those pages handy would be what I need to do.
Thanks everyone for the kind words. Now to get the car done. It's the one in the back. Interestingly enough, it is also an original black top car.

Being a 4 speed guy that struck me too. I'd love to hear what they were thinking when it was decided this option was even necessary.
The tires are L-60 on 8" rims. You know they are being replaced with 15x10s and N50s. I'm a Speedway Motors dealer and we carry the Pro Trac and M&H N50s, but I so want a set of M/T N50-15 Indy Profiles.
