You Tube embedding w/ new format

So, really cool that there is a “You Tube” button for putting our videos in our posts, but I must be doing something wrong. I copied the url from the video I want to embed and then placed the “you tube” markers on either side of the url (using the “you tube” button), but when I preview it, the post is blank. I heard that the “s” in https... needs to be deleted sometimes which I also tried. Any help is appreciated.

It certainly is inconsistent. I've used some features and it works on some browsers, but not well on mobile. It would definitely help my participation if it could work like the old site where the video could be viewed clearly and easily on any browser or device.

I can place a clickable url that when clicked takes you to you tube, but cant get the you tube window in the post that opens within the sYc site. I am using an ipad if that is pertinent.

Hi Sam, I just saw your email. I was out all day today. You are doing everything right...except DON'T PREVIEW the file.

Just type what you want to say, then embed the youtube video...and post it!

I don't know why previewing it causes it to mess up, but it does! Let me know if that works for you :beers:

Bruce - still not working. Tried on ipad and desk top Windows. Previous post is an attempt and the post is blank. I did not preview prior to posting??:confused2:

I was thinking of adding a Youtube Gallery. This would be a dedicated forum so member can post Youtube video related to musclecars from racing to repairs. Another thought, perhaps we could have a listing of all members Youtube Channels.

First, get the YouTube video ID, it's the info that follows the "=" in the URL of the video on YouTube. See image below. Highlight that info and click copy.

Next, to add the video to a post, click on the 'video' icon. See image below.

Finally, with your cursor between the YouTube BB tags, right click and paste the YouTube ID. That's it. Done.

Should be able to hit the "preview post" button before posting, and the video should show and play if you click on it.

Did this ever get sorted. Any of my old posts with what were functional videos all seem to be broken links now, and yesterday's attempt to post a youtube video had all failed. Didn't matter if I hyperlinked them, kept the 10 digit suffix, 11 digits, = sign or anything else? Nothing worked or previewed?
