Neat cars, no more than 2000lb fully dressed, one of 59 made. Marketing claimed a sub 4-second 0-60 time which must have been pretty untouchable for anything but a Cobra in those days.

----Had a 1965 one of these beasts. Bought it in Braintree Ma. and sold it south Florida a year later. Later it went to Hawaii, and then back to Chicago where a friend ended up with it to my great surprise! Important to know that part of the low weight revolved around the frame which was primarily exhaust tubing. I kid you not! Because of that the frames are prone to rusting. Most 65's were delivered with 289 two barrel motors but, of course, were quickly modified by new owners. Mine was delivered with a 2-four-barrel full tilt Cobra 350 hp. drivetrain. It was ridiculously fast and at times extremely scary......Bill S

I’m guessing ‘extremely scary’ is an understatement, Bill.

A smallblock in Alan Mann Racing livery with MK1 Cortina tails, doesn't get any better!
