Neat car, price is a little steep for the condition IMO but pretty rare. What do you guys think of the engine stamp?

That sure looks like a purposely obliterated VIN # on that block.

I sold that car last Dec. without the original motor or rear. It did have the original trans, no documentation.
LOL I was gonna say wellll looks a little distorted to me! Another Scammer passing off a car as to what it is not.

Kurt can you elaborate on what you know about the pad ? Also Bob knows the pads were not painted and he rebuilt the engine. Maybe the block was a orphan that got re united ?

My original statement wasn't complete enough.
I can't tell anything about that VIN stamp, but I think the assembly stamp is an original.
But knowing that the VIN was apparently changed and seeing that I under the 4 makes you wonder.....

Camaro specialties has been around for a long time. Since the description states "matching" and not "born with or original 302" and the pad is painted it's likely not the original engine. I suggest if anyone is interested, call or email Camaro Specialties and they will disclose what they know.
Also I don't believe the VIN on the block has been tampered with, rather corrosion caused the deterioration/damage. Removing the paint from the pad would confirm my suspicion.....

The original motor was blown in the early 70s, it had a 71 CE motor in it most of its life.

X2........Why is the corrosion only under the VIN......for the most part?

I agree w/ MJ and block pad appears intentionally obliterated so axle tube stamping questionable too.
Is this subject VIN 124378N417189 ?
:hmmm:
