Still looking - these have to be as common as door handles and wiper arms so there has to be some nice examples that someone here wants to sell! Please PM if you can help.

Still looking - no reply from Dave (luv2sixty9) so I still need one. These have to be as common as door handles and wiper blades so there has to be some nice examples sitting around that someone wants to sell! Please PM if you can help.

They maybe common but finding a nice one is hard at least out here in the northeast region. For they are underneath the car and exposed to the elements. Dave

Dave, thanks for the PM this morning - I appreciate the offer however I need a clip in mint condition. As they were not plated or painted I can't perform any repairs.

Lloyd,

I have 9 others but 5 are like the condition of the above picture. Here are 4 that you might possibly be interested in and if these don't work, sorry I can't help you out. The far left three might be your best choice.

You might want to get a hold of a member from California, where they are fortunate not to have any rust.

Dave, thanks very much for posting photos of the clips you have. I know there are plenty out there however I think you're right that I need to source one from a sun belt state car. As my restoration will be judged and its not possible to repair the clip as its both unplated and unpainted, I need one that's rust and pit free.

They look pretty nice to me LLoyd. Did not know they looked that hard at any clip.

Lloyd,

It's understood and not a problem for I did sell a few already because of the post. Good luck with your search. You can always use a brand new repop clip for they are not going to inspect the clip like Sammy indicated.

Sun Belt state - - - - maybe AZ :-))

With the current heat we have, they are probably warped!

Let me look around out this way.

Sammy, lloyd is more picky than i am !!

Eddie's correct. It's a little hot here right now. The ones in the other post probably came from here in the past. They were starting to melt...not just bend :)

Thanks, when I read that Chick received a deduction for not having the correct tab on his battery tray (which, by the way isn't easy to see when the tray is installed), I'm not convinced that brake line clips won't attract similar scrutiny. Without a judging guide the standards are not clear and there is ambiguity concerning details. I'm unable to use a repop as they are different from the originals.

...if you've ever seen Eddie's cars; 1,600 mile Z or X77 Cortez Z or his 58 Elena, Eddie's attention to detail is legendary!
