View Full Version : GF432 Fuel Filter Bracket
Could someone please post a photo of
the correct mounting bolt that attaches
this bracket to the front part of the intake
manifold? Have no idea what size it is or what
it looks like. Thanks.

Sal, I do not believe a SB car gets a bracket?

Thats correct, no bracket on the small block setup.
Yes guys I know that. This is for a friend of mine.

It's for his 1970 Chevelle SS396 L34 car
Beginning in 1970,they used a curved support stick that mounted through the hole in the engine pull hook, and clipped around the fuel filter line coupling. This is why there is a hole there..

Didn't they switch to a fuel line without a filter - straight from the pump to the carb in 1970 on Chevelles?
Thanks for clearing up the
confusion guys. I remember
seeing them on '69 Chevelles.
I will relay the message.
Thanks,

I believe Jake is correct. Never seen one of those filters on a 70 L34 Chevelle, but the L34 Novas did have that filter.

I thought every motor in a 69 Camaro with a quadrajet got the GF-432 filter. What was used to hold it on a small block?

Basically the steel fuel line is rigid enough to keep it in place.

I think GM felt that the vibration on a SB was low enough not to create issues with the fuel line.
That would be correct gents---here's a photo of the engine in my SS350...
Btw, never had any issues with it.
