Nice car but $120k is solid COPO territory. Would be interesting to see what kind of docs this one has.

Hate to start taking pot shots at such a pretty car, but there is a lot to pick at considering the asking price.

Besides, cross ram with manifolds and smog?

Agree with you, Lynn, numerous detail issues. Hard to see it scoring 994/1000 at National level as the listing states; wonder what the event and class was.

How could it a "numbers matching car" unless they have the POP?

The ad states "added options" for the cross ram and hood. That is one of those vague statements that I despise. Does that mean the original buyer checked those boxes on the order form or that somewhere in the last 40+ years someone "added" those options to the car? If the latter, than you are buying a nice RS Z with a ~10K manifold, carb and hood (depending on those authenticity) additions. Without original docs, there is no proof.

The cross ram & hood were never options. They were over the counter at the parts department. In the VCCA world, this is considered a modified vehicle or personalized vehicle & would not be judged as a restored vehicle....Joe

Car was on ebay back in 2002 in AZ. Not an RS and none of the drivetrain was original.

Maybe the 6 point deduction was for the chy- neeze brake booster.:shocked::bs:

Apparently there is a good reason there are no pics of the engine stamp, trans stamp, and trim tag.

Below links are two BJ listings for this same car more than 10 years apart w/ fee included sales @ $132,000 in 2007 also $83,600 @ this past June's 2018 BJ Northeast sale.
Both sale descriptions includes mention of 2006 accolades also recent no expense spared restorations but written so similarly, both may be referring to the same pre 2006 resto?:hmmm:

I would rather see a car where they took the time to put Z/28 fender emblems on correctly. The crayon marks all over the car add no value to me.

Plus, a crossram with smog equipment does nothing for me either.

Somewhere between 2007 and 2018 the Goodyear tires were replaced with modern radials.

I think this car and it's history has been well documented and detailed in this thread and that's all we need to know. I caution our members to not nit pick every detail, as that is not what this site is about. If a member has a question about correctness on a car by all means provide your input. I don't think it helps this or any site to continue beating a dead horse.

I saw this car at BJ Northeast auction and a yellow Z28 that were being sold by the same seller. I took quick glance and kept walking.
