Very nice, good looking color combo. I am surprised this wasnt a more popular combination back then.

The entire car looks great. What I find extremely refreshing is no ducted hood, no spoilers & no rally wheels. Nicely done. Thank you for sharing....Joe

Gorgeous car and unusual colors. Probably 1 of 1 with that color combo and drivetrain.

All cars are pretty much 1 of 1.

I always found it curious that Chevrolet decided to make red stripes the default for this color.

----If this is the same Camaro (and I cant imagine there are 2), I met the guy who had the car restored at an auction in Monterey. He sold it that weekend for great money for the timeframe. I believe that he used to come on this sight, as well.. Cant remember his name at the moment, but I think Charley would remember him as I believe they are from the same general area...….Bill S

Years ago I asked Charley if he knew of a good L78 rag I could buy. He turned me on to this car which he owned in the late 80s I believe. After I got the car he told me it should have red stripes. It only took 15 years or so to get it done. I'll post more pics this weekend.

Phil your persistence paid off, because it look absolutely stunning. That stripe contrast sets it off. Keep the pics coming, and a big congratulations!!:beers:

Somewhere I have a pic of when a ball joint snapped as I was backing out of my driveway I think the day after I drove it about 60 home after buying it. I put alot of miles on that car.

Found the pics taken Oct. 1988 so 30 years ago next month. Notice the black grill in the ball joint pic. Then a friend convinced me the grill should be silver so I incorrectly painted it silver when I put the front clip back together. made the cover of Musclecar Review in 1990 and I cringe when I look at the silver grill. Tom Shaw stated at the time it was the first real 69 L78 convert. he had ever seen. I hdn't realized it's been 30 years.

JMO, but I like the silver non RS grill on all 69's. But you gotta do what's correct on that car. Glad to see the white stripe go away..

Going through some old pictures and when I stumbled on these it reminded me of your car.
In 2007 I went to look at a car in Shelby twp, MI and he also had this gem sitting in his garage. The story he told me from what I remember was his wife had won it in a raffle that some Jelly Bean company was having, and sadly it was not for sale. Maybe I should stop by and see if he is ready to sell.

If it wasn't so yellowed from age I'd say it was worth a few bucks, but based on how it looked,I'd say not so much today.
Plus they're still making these today.
