So my neighbor is still looking for a Camaro/Chevelle he can buy relatively cheaply and fix on the weekends, and this car came up in conversation. I like it but it's undocumented, and obviously it's no longer original, and needs paint and some rust attention, and. and. and...for me it's like a $20-25k car. Looking for some opinions on value!

vinyl top is in great shape, there is a few bubbles underneath it...

I would be looking very closely at the top.

Will always be a "Maybe" car with no docs and no x code, so i would just look for a nicer car...For 32k i think u could get a nicer non hipo 69 camaro.

Thanks for the feedback - was a no-sale the last time around. Relisted in the link below.

I walked through the pics with my neighbor and convinced him the price was about $10-15k too high (just my opinion of course).

Relisted for $27,500, getting closer to market value.

Interesting to see all the holes drilled in the trunk - maybe some old racecar fuel system? Who knows.

I recognize those holes...it’s called drainage, lol.

Relisted for $30k, interesting strategy...not sure that will get it sold. Still needs a good bit of love.

Seller seems to be banking on some commentary from a previous owner, who believes this was an original Z. Not sure why no one has thought to drop the tank and look for a broadcast sheet.

I had a B.B. LOS 69 RS Z that ended up being 100% proven real when I pulled the muncie and it had the VIN stamped on the top of the case.

Just curious, how does pulling a Muncie and finding it has your VIN on it prove it was a Z/28? Think your statement needs more info.

Does not prove anything other then it belonged to the car.

A Muncie 4-speed with genuine partial VIN from a '69 Camaro can't confirm exactly what engine the car left the factory with, but it can narrow it down. Per CRG transmission report (http://www.camaros.org/trans.shtml):
The wide-ratio Muncie M20 was available with any of the high-performance engines, except the L78 and Z28 in 67 only came with the M21. The M20 was the only 4-speed available with the SS350 and the SS396/325 hp (L35) engines.
The close-ratio M21 was available only with the SS396/350 hp (L34) engine and the solid lifter engines (Z28, L78, and COPO).
The heavy-duty M22 was limited to just the solid-lifter engines, starting in Camaros in 1968. The Muncie usages are also shown on the ID tables (e.g. the 69 ID table).
