View Full Version : '55 Chevy, 427 powered Day 2 car

I like this one - the front (modern) wheels aren't my cup of tea and I'm guessing they are recent changes - but that's an easy fix.

I really want to know more about the '1960s newspaper clippings' that go with the car. Wondering if there is some race history on this one.

I whole-heartedly agree about those front wheels and it's obviously a very cool-looking '55 but I can't imagine it being a very serious machine with that original, porcelain rear axle still in place!

This car is local to me. I saw it up close when this dealer 1st acquired it. He showed me all the newspaper clippings from back in the day....it is a local west central Ohio drag car that ran a lot of the small tracks that used to be open in this neck of the woods. I didn't look the car over real close as I was not interested in it at the time. If anyone is serious, I can make a trip over there and look at it more closely. It's about 30 minutes from me.
