Looking for what the going retail purchase price and wholesale buy prices should be on a complete rebuildable DZ 302 motor? It's a may 1969 assembled motor that's been on shelf torn apart for well over 25 plus years. All parts there with complete flat bottom air cleaner, original carb, intake, distributor, valve covers, 186 heads, oil pan, windage tray, timing cover, balancer, crankshaft, rods, pistons, water pump, deep groove pulleys, camshaft, lifters, push rods, rockers oil pump, exhaust manifolds. Basically a complete rebuildable motor. Also in addition the original muncie transmission may be with it also complete with shifter, bell housing, flywheel, block is rusty but appears everything is in rebuildable condition.

Here's a few a-la-cart numbers for what parts have been known to sell for. Of course it all depends on how rusty the crank is, the condition of the blocks bores, if the right caps are still on the block, whether it's checked for cracks first, and what the rest of the parts are like. It also depends how desirable the dates are to someone as well, and whether it's parted out or sold as a complete deal. These values are only one mans opinion and they are subject to debate...but you asked right. (lol)

DZ Block if mag'd and verified no cracks - $2500+
1178 Crank if Standard to 10/10 and checked - $700+
Pink Rods if needing to be resized but complete - $400
186 Heads if checked and verified no cracks - $1200
472 Intake if not needing heli coils or repairs - $400
DZ4053 carb needing rebuilding as a core - $600+
Flat Bottom Breather (verified original) - $1800+
1100837 Alternator (verified original) - $1200+
403 Bell Housing and Original Flywheel $400+
M21 Muncie Trans (needing rebuilt but complete) 1250+

Someone buying it all is going to want 20%-30% off the entire package if everything checks out and is usable. That puts you in the $7500+ window for all of it as a package if everything is correct. Any cracks and damage to the motor puts much of the values at risk so make sure it's all good and have a machinist check the block, heads and crank if you want top dollar.

Ron,

You mentioned yesterday the distributor may be missing. If it's there and is real stamp add $1200, and if the shifter is there and correct/complete w/ rods, add another $750. Pulleys are a few hundred bucks in addition and smog add's another $1000 if there with correct pulley.

Thanks Norcam, for the run down. I appreciate it. I also picked up 1178 crankshaft today. Its 20 and 20 mains and rods. Looks in nice shape. Sending it out to get checked. If it checks out. It will be for sale soon.
