Must have been just before Motion was shut down by the DOJ. Looks like one of them has a L88 hood (Phase III poss??) and what I *think* may be a Buick in the work bay?
Anyone know of any surviving today?

3 1974s and a '75. Always wondered what happened to those cars, that's a pretty popular Motion pic.

Either the middle right or middle left Firebird is under-going a restoration in NYC. The owner bought it in like 1980 with a stash of receipts in the glove box. Turns out one was a Motion work order. Judy's handwriting on the invoice dated like 1974. It is a red car, 454 LS6, auto, L88 hood. Cool car. Haven't spoken to the owner in a few years but I met him. Nice guy.

I was aware of the 1974 Phase III Camaro in Iran, but not the T/A. Interesting.

Here is some information for the one on the far right. Just in case anyone is going to Iran looking for it.

Cool cars! It's always fun to look in the background of motion pics to see what's going on. The Buick that's all the way to the left is an interesting spot. Makes me think of that Motion GSX that RK Motors had for sale awhile back. I wonder if it got a similar treatment in a way....

in about 1974 the Gov stopped MP from doing new US street cars but they still did export cars, repairs, race cars, engine swaps, mail order parts, etc into the 1990's
Back in the day, it cost less to swap in a 454 Chevy then to build a Pontiac engine to get a 450hp to 500hp Ratbird

It hasn't changed.

While some of these cars may have gone overseas, it was mostly a ‘red herring’ to throw off the Feds. It was a way to keep promoting Motion Performance in the magazines, while not generating exposure for Domestic Builds.
