Canadian documentation is a big plus and certainly nice colors. Virtually no detail in the description other than the standard COPO history which is pretty worthless. Estimate seems a bit optimistic.

Could it be the Musselum Motors COPO? They had a Hugger Orange one, & a Yellow one. Dale

So, I'm watching IIHF hockey, NFL playoffs and surfing the net including Yenko.net and I stumble across this thread. There's a discussion about this car and I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the pics and read about it.

Change the 4speed to a column automatic (day 2 changed to a B&M shifter), add power steering and this car is a dead match to the one a late buddy of mine owned back around 1973 or so, colour combination and all. He didn't keep it long as it was so impractical as a daily driver. I don't know if he bought it from the original owner or not but it was in mint condition with about 12 or 13000 miles on it and the person he bought it from was in Regina, Saskatchewan.

… "Restored by Brian Henderson and Joe Swezey at Super Car Workshop
… in Latrobe, Pennsylvania"

… These guys do great job restoring these cars!

… That alone should tell you how nice the restoration is on this Copo.

Dave Mackay and I threw a yellow one in our initial order of 10 Camaros and 5 Chevelles at Belmont. We may have also later ordered an additional yellow or two for customers, but this one is more than likely the initial order car, 660606. I have an entry on file for the original owner and delivery date.

ps: Hey, Joe, how are things out there on the Left Coast?

Lance: if you are ever up for a cup of coffee let me know. I would be honoured to have a chat one day.

A friend in Kitchener just finished restoring a Belmont 1969 F85 W31, M21, 4.33 Sable Brown. (I just found him Belmont key chain)

Did "Belmont" play a role in getting COPO's for other dealerships in Canada or did each dealership do their own thing?

Each dealer had to order from GM Canada (via their Zone office), Belmont Chev-Olds was just another GM dealership, albeit the largest volume new car dealer of any brand in Canada.

Well after talking with Don it's apparent we're talking about the same car he remembered. Seems the car spent it's early life from 1973 on in Saskatoon. I can add one more name to the chain of ownership along with some history which is great. Now for some history from when it was in Regina.

And the more I think about it, I’m out by a year. I believe my friend bought the car in ‘74 not ‘73 but I do know for sure whomever he bought it from was in Regina.
