Pretty cool if the mileage claim is true. However, it sure looks to me like the car has been completely restored, but I could be wrong. Would also be nice to see some drivetrain stamps and pictures of claimed original docs.
Nonetheless I could really get into a red-on-red L79 '66 Chevy II.

Why would a car with that little mileage need to be repainted :confused2:

looks to be restored to me too. Is that the factory exhaust? I thought they had a transverse single muffler?

----I'm absolutely sure that no 66 Nova ever came with chambered exhaust, or Hurst shifter. However, a 66 would have had regular dual exhaust. With that said I'd love to own it......Bill S

Pretty sure the factory system was a true dual with resonators at the rear...I checked out the Gardner site...see the link.

Almost sounds too good to be true. I expected to read the term “ex-drag car” in the ad but no such thing was mentioned. I will say that in my travels I have ran across (and even owned) low-mileage cars cars like this that have been wrecked many, many years ago and when the owner didn’t have the money to properly repair them, they end up parked for decades. Not saying that’s the case here but it’s definitely a scenario.

It appears that the quarters have been replaced in the past.

My observation as well that a lot of "ex-drag cars" end up in the 1000 to 6000 ish mile range.

----I'm not saying I don't believe you, but what do you base your statement on? I think I can even see the stamping on the drivers side, but it could be an anomoly...….Bill S

The trim tag has the punched hole in the bottom that denotes the mounts for the shoulder belts in the roof. I believe in was a mid-year change.

The hardware holding the quarter trim is incorrect. The correct fastener is plastic and pushes into a pre-punched slot on a factory 11637 quarter. The correct fastener part number is 4403445. It appears a stud and stamped nut fastener are being used. The hardware for the emblem is incorrect also. If the quarter stampings are shown for the quarters they would read 11637 for this particular car. I like the car.

The replacement GM quarters just have a date code stamp I believe...

Possible drag car earlier in it's life where quarters were cut for tire clearance and/or tubs. I don't know why a 2000 mile car would need quarter replacement unless stored outside.

Not a lot of room on these cars for big tires. Makes sense to me.
