I found a few 1970 ads from Sherwood Chevrolet Olds in Saskatoon Canada that listed the cars actual VIN#s.

Two 1970 LS6s and a 1970 Z28 ad (listing the cars actual VIN#s) from Sherwood Chevrolet Olds in Saskatoon. The newspaper was the Star Phoenix Sept 8, 1970. It looks as the ad miss printed the chevelle VIN# with an "8" instead of "B" for Baltimore Md build plant. So 136370B184046 would be the LS6 TH400 car (listed as special paint maybe a non regular 1970 production color car???) and 136370B179905 would be the LS6 M22 car. the 1970 Norwood Z28 Th400 car 124870N577642. Be great if these car were still out there.

Cool ads!
Looks like the '70 Z-28 may be an existing car too, note the M40 Auto...

Rick,

There is a moderator (Levon H) on the team Chevelle site that claims his buddy owns Baltimore VIN 136370B179905. If you know the owners of either one of these car please pass this along. Thanks.

Levon asked me to post these two photos of the above car here for those interested. The car in this thread has been fully restored since 2002 and won 3 of 4 awards at the World of Wheels in 2003. Would love to have the owner tell us more about the car and show more pictures. If he doesn't post I will reach out to him.

Heres the Chevelle 300 ad with the Vin.

The 300 series Chevelle does indeed still exist, and was discussed here at this site a couple years ago:

https://www.thesupercarregistry.com/forum/showthread.php?t=153935

I believe Dan Vasic may know of its current status and who owns it.

Good morning,
I friend of mine owns the Monaco orange LS6 car referenced in this thread (136370B179905) and he would like to print off copies of the ads illustrated. He has a link to this thread, but when he expands the adds to print, they become very unclear.

Nasblu, would you be willing to share where you found the ads so I can pass the link on to the owner?
Thx
Oliver

The key would be to find all the non-LS6 cars with VIN and see if they are now LS6s. :-)

Why is there an 8 where the plant letter should be on all these adds?

Could it be supposed to be a B?

They are Baltimore cars, so it appears to be a typo (8 rather than B) on the part of either the dealership or the newspaper.

Yes, both of the LS6 cars mentioned are Baltimore built cars and someone replaced the "B" with an "8" in the ads. The yellow car is also still in Canada as far as I know.
Thx
Oliver

Since Levon let the cat out of the bag today on Team Chevelle(https://www.chevelles.com/threads/baltimore-vin-136370b179905-build-sheet-wanted.185891/), I want to extend a huge congratulations to my buddy Ryan, aka ryanchevelle, for landing the orange LS6 in this ad, which I consider to be one of, if not the best, orange LS6 1970 Chevelle's on the planet. It took Ryan a couple years to track it down and make the deal happen so I'm super proud of him for following up on every lead and doing whatever it took to make his dream car become a reality. Congratulations Ryan, I can't wait to see it in person!

Thank you Chad. I appreciate it. This car had been the topic of many conversations between you and I over the last few years. For those that don’t know me I’ve been searching for a real documented orange 70 chevelle for years and years. It was not an easy task to find one at all let alone this particular car. This car checked every box and then some. Ls6 m22 4.10 car alone is special, then add in factory cowl induction, tach and gauge package, buckets and console etc and it becomes an even more elite spec, but being a special paint gm Canada documented original drivetrain car makes it truly a unicorn. I’m delighted to have the honor to call it mine.

I’d also like to extend a sincere thank you to Rick Nelson for pointing me in the right direction and to Levon H. for being an absolute class act. These are great people in our hobby, but you guys already know that.
