Hi All,

I am looking for a tri or quad fold locking bed cover for my '19 Sierra Denali 2500 HD. Any suggestions on brand and model?

Much appreciated!

Thanks,
Dan

Nice truck!! Does it shut off when you stop?

I would try this one...

One of the better ones allot of trunk owners are using. Did you look into GMC hard tri fold before you bought the truck. How long is your bed? I don't know if locking the tail gate is enough of a lock, if you want a locking cover then you may have to go hard plastic?

Mine is GMC factory tri fold and keeps everything super dry. Do you have a spray on bed liner?

A lot of the locking covers have their locks on the top of the cover which exposes them to freezing up from snow and ice if you live in a cold climate. Not much fun dealing with that every day.

Hi Dave, likewise. Cool rig.

No, it does not shut off when I stop. I have a 6.5 ft bed.

Verne - I live in NY so yes, cold climate is a concern too. That is the main reason why I want a bed cover.

Thanks,
Dan

I bought mine direct from Bakflip back in 2014 and have no issues, it’s on a 2015 2500HD Denali. I just lock my tail gate, flip the lid closed and everything stays dry and secure.

Hey Dan,

Not a folding bed cover, but I've had a Retrax retractible covers on my last two trucks and would buy one again. They are made in Grandforks ND, so are engineered for cold weather, the lock has a cover to seal from moisture. I would recommend the aluminum slat option, power retracting and bed lighting are options also. The only downside is the space taken at the from by the roll up enclosure.

Txt me if you have any questions.

Good luck whatever you choose!!

Friend of mines daughter has a retractable cover on her work truck and might be the brand, but it seems to get water in the box it rolls up into. The box has a drain tube and it comes off and let's water into the bed. We first thought something had rolled into the drain tubes and pulled them off. Last I heard the bed was wet again and I think he said the drain tubes are still attached. She works for Milwaukee tools and water has soaked the bags her tools were in

BW - I was considering that option and even saw some YouTube videos on it but prefer a folding hard plastic unit. Thanks for the info though!

Now we’re talking... can you explain how the lock works? Is it integrated into lock for the tailgate? Thank you!

Wow that’s a real shame and is what I’m trying to avoid. My truck came with bed liner from GM and I have a real nice mat coming to further protect it.

I have that cover on two Ram duallys.

These trucks are work trucks and the cover gets a lot of use. After two years they are starting to show their age. They are staring to come apart and they leak, but I'm not complaining. We beat them like rented mules. I'll get new covers when I order new trucks at the end of the year.

Thanks for the feedback. Mine came with a here year warranty. Did yours too? As long as the unit is registered on their website when purchase, the warranty should be in affect. For us, it’s going to see light duty use. We only want it for security and bed protection.

Dan

Well done Dan!!

Thanks Bill! I’ll post pics when it’s installed!

A little late to this but I have the Undercover Flex cover and I really like it. Tri-folding and it has spring loaded cable locks that can only be opened when the tailgate is down. Post up photos of the one you bought when you get it installed.

I believe that is the same cover as the backflip. I noticed when I was shopping for mine that several companies offered the same cover under different brand names.
This was true with tri folds, roll covers, ect.

Among other things, my covers are showing the "white strands" through the black finish just like in your pictures. When new(2 years ago) they were solid black.

I have also managed to tear off all the plastic channel that covers the cables on the under side.

Put some Locktite on the prop rods or they will back off.

There is a thin piece of trim(about 1/2" wide) on top of every joint between panels that slide from side to side allowing water in. I imagine a dap or glue could fix that.
As my tops get older they allow more water in all the way around. A good bit actually.

The rubber seal at the panel joints that lays on the top side of the truck bed are "pooching up" some and that allows water instruction.

I will still buy the same covers on the next trucks. We use(abuse) them hard and I don't know of a cover that will work better and still allow the gooseneck hitch to be easily used.

I also want my chainsaws, nail guns, concrete saw, powered post driver, compressor, skil saws, recips, ect. out of site. You could pop the cover easily with a flat bar, but most thieves are lazy and want low hanging fruit.

I’ve never found a good top. I bought the Chevy Avalanche, it has nice locking tops, again Gm designs a top with no where to put them like my T Tops on my 78.

Pardon gents... I haven't been feeling well lately. Finally on the mend. Pics attached.

Truck: drives like an Escalade. All comfort and power options on overload. Exhaust brake is badass. Endless power. I've been getting between 17-19mpg highway. Never felt like the truck was too big, too bulky, or too bloated. I've had it in Manhattan, and live in a city now.

BakFlip MX4: ONLY buy direct from BakFlip. Do not buy it from a sub dealer. The unit seals fairly. I still see a water drips in the bed post heavy rain driving. It is a good unit. Not cheap. Satisfied with the purchase.

Thanks,
Dan

guys, look at this one. Its exactly the same as a back flip for hundreds less! Mine is over a year old, out in the weather every day and no leaks and works perfectly. My neighbor has a backflip and this one is just as nice and cheaper.
