Looks like a restamp to me as the broach marks are all over the place

What is the casting number and casting date?

Agree with Charley. Looks suspiciously like belt sander marks, and someone couldn't keep the belt sander very straight.

I don't like it, but I always run this stuff by Jonesy and KurtS. They will likely have contemporaneous pics to compare.

Flint produced production DZ 302 engines August 1968 - October 1969. That means an August, September or October DZ stamping can be from either time frame. Fortunately there are subtle differences within those time frames; the same dates are not identical.

The V0915DZ stamp in the photo does not match up with either time frame.

The first thing that jumps out at you is the broach surface of the pad as Charlie mentioned so no surprise and thanks William.
