My L78 Nova was sold there, remember talking to Greg Sutliff 7-8 years ago about "any old paperwork laying around?" he said he hired a kid a month before and he threw it all away, lol. Nice guy and took the time to talk and reminisce

I am friends with Greg's adopted step son, John who lives near me and was still working at Sutliff as we speak, I am not sure if he stayed on working for Turner, I will have to ask him. He has been working at Sutliff since the 70's and has many Sutliff items in his personal collection.

I would say more GM dealerships were shuttered, than have changed hands/bought out. Out of the three on the Mid/lower Cape, two were shut down by GM (one as early as 1982) and the other twenty years ago.

Hoffman Chevrolet (I believe they sponsored a Z11 Impala back in the day) here in Hagerstown, MD was just sold to Fitzgerald group. I was working there in 2005 when they shredded all their old records dating back to the 20's. The pile filled a whole truck service bay.

Greg said that paperwork from the 50's 60's and,70's was definitely in the pile thrown away. He really regretted tossing it, me too!

What were the two that closed? I've always wondered what dealers were on the cape. Besides Dick Beard, I think there was a GMC dealer that closed a few years ago. But I imagined there were others dealers in other parts of the Cape at one time. I know there was a dealer in Provincetown. I tried to find the building once.

I purchased a new Colorado Z71 from Sutliff in March of 2016. They happened to be the closest dealer that had the truck I wanted in stock.

Duarte Motors 132 Bradford street in Provincetown (closed 1982) and Stagg Chevrolet in Dennis. I have a ton of stuff from Duartes, as I helped clean the building out when the family sold it. Beard just sold out to the Premier auto group (they are trying to create their own car dealer cabal), and Bucklers GMC is who you're thinking of. The Duarte building is still there, the new owner turning it into a CVS.

Got any of the paperwork from Duarte?

I had a protectoplate from Beard Chevy in Barre MA. Wonder when he moved or opened up the dealer in Hyannis?

Paper work on cars was long gone, but they sold very few Hi per cars anyway. I don't remember when Beard opened in Hyannis.
