We had a 2 day storm roll through AZ. Now it's going to impact the rest of the US. All you folks that normally get snow may say ho-hum (LOL), but for Arizona, this is a rare occurrence!

The first pics were shot from close to home...across the valley and towards Lake Pleasant and Crown King. The next ones were looking towards Prescott-and the last one was looking towards the White Tanks (near Waddell)

Those shots were taken early morning yesterday-air temp 34 degrees!

Then Lynn, Holly and I decided on taking a day trip up to Payson for lunch!

Photo credit for most of these photos goes to my wife Lynn-as I was driving

By the way, there was snow in Cave Creek, Scottsdale, Bartlett Lake area-places that normally don't get snow...at least snow that sticks to the ground!

There was snow on the ground on highway 87 less than 14 miles from the turnoff from Shea Blvd to highway 87...

Once in Payson,we drove to the airport for lunch...the restaurant was open, the airport was closed except for emergency landings. Lots of snow fell here in town....:eek2:

Here are the last pics from the drive home...the last one you won't see very often.

In fact, the 14 years we've lived in AZ, I've not seen the hills covered like this ever! As a point of reference-the exit were about to pass is the exit right near Barrett-Jackson.

Great pics Bruce!

There was even snow in Tucson. Buddy of mine that does my machine work down there sent me a picture. They had 2 inches of snow on the ground. Crazy.
Here's a short video of the police having some fun with it down there.

We got 12 inches at the house, first I've ever seen that much here.

Prescott got over 20 inches from what I heard. Here at the house we are lower elevation so we never see it as bad as Prescott, but we still got 12 inches, which is the most I've ever seen here.

Usually 1 or 2 snow events a year at the house and they only amount to 2-3 inches at a time, and it's gone by noon the next day. So to see this much is a bit of a shocker. It was one heck of a storm.

Flag got 40 inches and broke a record that had been in place since 1915 for the most snow in one day. Just crazy.

great pictures how often does it send a dusting of snow in the mountains??

The mountains see it fairly often because you are looking at elevations of 7,000 feet or more. Almost all the snow events up here only drop down to maybe 6,000 feet elevation so it's just rain for those of us that live below that. So we frequently see snow capped mountains around the house off in the distance.

This storm however dropped to 1,000 or 1500 feet I think?? Which put snow in some parts of Phoenix and Tucson, which is really rare.

Did they have any way to get it off the roads?
Larry you might have to find a shovel!
Central ohio getting 40 mph winds as this approaches. Nice day out

Ha, I had to do some shoveling with this storm. Usually I just wait a couple hours and it melts away but this might hang a while.

They have plows but they don't treat the roads with anything that melts it. They just toss a little sand down. Sunshine afterwards seems to do the rest.

Yep, they have snowplows-at least up north. We missed a few pics on the 87, where a Frito Lay semi and two snow plows got stuck at the top of one pass-and they were trying to dig them out yesterday morning.:eek2:

We brought snow home in the bed of the truck and Holly made some mini snow men...and they are still partially there. We got a lot of neat comments from folks in the neighborhood...even had a small snowball fight....

First two pics are from yesterday...the last one from this morning. It helps that it was 37 out this morning. Still lots of snow in the bed of the truck:biggthumpup:

By the way...it's supposed to be 75 degrees by Thursday!
