163 Intake

Dumb question I've aways wanted to ask... if these are only dated on the bottom, how can you tell it's the correct date (or not) once it's installed? Are there running production changes to the external appearance, or are you just happy knowing that you have the correct date in under there? I have one dated April 68 for what it's worth.

I always take pictures of the part numbers and dates for all components for the car's restoration "book". It's not a huge deal on parts like the 163 manifold, but if I could choose I'd have all parts line up correctly.

Don't settle and hold out for a properly dated one. If you don't it will always bother you. At least it would me. Dave

Picts emailed of (2) #163 intakes for your time frame- Feb 7 and Jan 8, I had some others put aside, let me check dates on those as well.
