Here are the pictures that I took at the Dave Lindsley Celebration of Life and Cars.
We were honored to be able to attend this wonderful celebration with all of Dave's car buddies, coworkers, business neighbors and two of his childhood friends...Ed Borgia and George Lyons. It was great to see the friends that we've made through Dave again (though we wish it was under different circumstances) and meet some new car folks as well.
Dave and Bird have made impacts on a LOT of peoples lives- and the outpouring of support during these rough times for Bird, Marty and Donna and the Lindsley Construction family show how much people care.
Thanks to Ed Borgia for being there immediately for Bird-and for all the rest you have done. Thanks to George Lyons for what you did as well.
Thanks to Marty and everyone who was responsible for getting this all arranged and set up, manning it (and getting it torn down). You are all amazing people!
There was a great turnout today at the celebration of Dave's life. There were at least 200 people there at the busiest part of the celebration. And quite a few cool muscle cars showed up as well!
Yenko.net was well represented as well...with Mark Sheppard (92646) and his daughter Maddie, Ken Maisano, 69NovaJoe (Joe Camuglia), MSSL72 (Mark), Anthony S and his son Anthony drove from quite a distance,Joe Sheppard (JShep) came as well.
A personal thanks to Craig Maiorana and his wife...who showed up and then came back...to meet up with us!

Here are Dave's cars. Bird his wife is keeping the black L78 Nova.
The wagon has a crate small block, air conditioning and 700R4 overdrive transmission . My wife Lynn is standing in front of the wagon as it was her favorite of Dave's. When Dave found this out...and we visited in December...he made a point to have it in the driveway of the house when we got there. THAT...perfectly exemplified Dave...
The Black Nova is a real L78 Nova-and was close to what Dave's first Muscle Car was...way back in Erie.
The Cross Ram Z28 is a low mile car that was well known in Socal.
The 300 deluxe...Dave bought off of a member of this site with the help of Dan Vasic.
The L79 Nova was from here in AZ and was once owned by Sizzler Wayne from Pavilions.
All of these cars were featured in magazines with the exception of the Nova wagon, though I do think it was in the background of a picture of the feature on the L79 Nova

Speaking of Ken Maisano, he built a Duster with a Hemi that appeared in magazines...and then he sold it at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale this past January.
Guess what showed up to celebrate Dave's life? Yep, that Duster! Turns out that the new owner lives fairly close to Ken.
The car world is pretty small!

This is cool as heck!
(Dave) You know that you've made an impact on someone's life...when the mailman got done with his route, he came back and parked his truck in the show area and opened his hood, too! He was cool as heck!

Bruce,
Thanks so much for sharing Dave`s Celebration with all of us. Great to see many great friends show up....including my good friend Joe (Jshep).
The Mailman Picture.....says it all. Dave touched so many of us. He will always remain in my heart.
You are so correct, Dave was indeed smiling down :)
Thanks again Bruce....really appreciate YOU!

I enjoyed meeting many of the guys in the forum (Thanks Dan for steering me here!). Thanks Bruce for taking the time out of your day to introduce me to folks. Dave was a great guy and I continue to pray for his family. Bird is awesome. It was a great day for all to celebrate Dave's life.

Bruce, I agree with everything you said. It was a fitting tribute to a great guy and one I won't soon forget. Seeing "old" friends and familiar ones is always a treat. Thanks to Bird and Marty (and all involved!) for the hospitality and love they showed everyone in attendance. It really was one special day!!
The impromptu "exhibition of speed" was something I had to do. I think I even heard Dave giggling, saying, "way to go Nova Joe"!! It was just my way of saying goodbye........ :burnout:

Thanks for letting us know about the gathering Bruce. It was finally good to meet you, Lynn and Holly. It was nice to catch up some with NovaJoe, neighbor Tom and Mark Sheppard. Equally nice to meet Anthony S. and Jr. and to put another face to name. It was a fun day, everyone had smiles. I also ran into a friend I hadn't seen for a while, Gary Perkins. A great guy who knew Dave well. Thanks to NovaJoe for the nice way to leave! :3gears: Watch the Rs!

Two iconic photos I’ve kept in my archive are from this site. Sometimes photos really say way more than any dissertation or commentary can. The guy jamming down the highway in the T-Bucket in the SoCal Car Porn thread is one, and that mailman truck photo is another.
I didn’t know Dave, Bruce, but every time I see that photo it’ll remind me of this thread and his memory will live on a little longer in someone he never knew!! Good on ya, a Buddy!!!
Cheers

Thank you to everyone that has supported Dave's friends & family, and have come together in Dave's name during this very difficult time. The celebration could not have been better!!
We love you!

Even though we showed up mid way through it was still awesome to see the out pouring of love in Dave's honor. It was strange to see the walls in there bare but I guess Dave did know that something was coming. It was awkward not knowing many people there so we paid our respects and then left, but when Bruce contacted me saying they'd still be there for a bit I had to come back. It was great meeting you guys.
I have a feeling we will do this again under happier circumstances. Thank you Bruce

Hi Craig,
Thanks again for coming back. I have to apologize. I didn't look at my phone once...until I saw your message.
Let's do this again, soon. I know that Dave would approve.... :)

I didn't bring my car. I live up in Long Beach and was going to a concert after the memorial, so I didn't have time to bring the car. I live about 40 miles away from Dave's man cave. I am friends with Mark Sheppard, known him since I got my car. He helped me restore the car years ago. My buddy Peter Treglia brought his B7 Blue 70 Challenger R/T 440 six pack 4 speed car.
