Wow... just 30 mins down the road from me....

Looks like a lot of grease and dirt on that engine for 1300 miles.

What an interesting find. The article states it was hit in the back, so some paint work will need to be done if it has not already. Hopefully the engine will rotate. It looks to have the L71 engine, two tops, sidepipes, and aluminum wheels. The wheels and sidepipes certainly add value to the car if they were originally installed. There's certainly a very good chance the tank sticker is in place and in nice shape.

Would be interesting to see the extent of the damage.

I have heard about this car for about a year. It's very cool car but the damage will not simply "buff out" The frame is bent and the rear clip will need to be replaced. I don't do social media but was told that someone posted a pic of the rear of the car on FB. It would be great to bring the car back to life. There is no tank sticker but it has an order form. It came with BO wheels and side exhaust.

From FB...

I hope it is well documented to share areas that remain original and untouched. L71/Bolts/Side pipes/Convertible remains a killer car...

I know the new California owner. I've yet to see it in person, hopefully soon.
I haven't heard exactly what the plans are yet, but I'm sure an evaluation is in order first.

HMMMM what are the odds?
A 1967 Vette hit in the back by a 1962 Impala that clearly would have had front end damage and both surfacing at the same time! LOL
The vette with impact at the right rear and the Impala looks like it had a right front impact judging by the right front frame horn bent downward.

A vette with half the body replaced will hurt the value and originality. he best by a parts car and put a virgin GM rear clip on that car.
