So I know of a 69 Camaro RS 307 AC car coming up for sale. Original car.
I have been working SLOWLY on my 6 cylinder basket case which will have a LT1 gen 1 style small block, m20 trans, and 12 bolt 4.10 posi rear.
I am not driving coast to coast, just looking for a fun simple cruiser. Neither would ever be a high dollar car, but something that looks clean at the local ice cream stand.
So which would make a more fun cruiser, yes I am leaning hard towards the 4 speed car…just need the jury of my peers to confirm.
Thanks folks.

LT1, M20 and 4.10 sounds like a lot of fun. 307 with what is probably a Powerglide does not sound like fun. I couldn't live with the 307 car without doing a engine, transmission swap and tossing the AC.

Agree with Freddie.
Agree with everything but tossing the AC. Use a Sanden compresser, send out your POA valve to convert to 134A. Cruisers GOT to have A/C. It is the only thing that keeps me from driving my 69 Z more often in the Summer time.
Although, if you are already making progress on the 6 cyl car, why not just finish it? Why start over? You can always add vintage air later.

Go with the one with the better body..
I bought a little old lady 69 Camaro with 307/glide about 20 years ago and was going to COPO clone it (427 and TH 400 still in garage). It runs and drives so well (10K original miles) that I couldn't modify it. It gets a ton of attention on the road and drives like a new car. There's my suggestion to you. Good luck with the decision. You can't always be grinding through the gears and some good old fashion cruising is still fun. FWIW.

I am leaning towards finishing the 6 since I have the powertrain and brakes already.
Charlie says to go with the better body..I am in NJ all the bodies are bad.
As far as the little old lady cruiser I have one of them too.

AC is a deal breaker for us, meaning if it has it, I don't want it  I don't enjoy the extra clutter that comes with it.
I'm with Charlie, I'd use the car that has the better sheet metal. The drivetrain is the easy stuff to swap and make the car what you want.

I'm the same way, I stay away from AC cars
