Here are some pics of my 1967 Chevelle SS that I just purchased. The Chevelle was purchased in 1973 by the 2nd owner who wanted a big block Chevelle. He drove it all thru the 70's and parked it in 1980 where it sat until now.

the car has NOS front fenders that were installed in 1980 right before the car was parked.
The original engine was destroyed in the mid 70's when the carb stud was swallowed into the engine and destroyed a piston and cracked the block. The engine was rebuilt using a IV code 396 from a big car. all of the original heads intake and water pump were used in the rebuild. The owner has a set of deep dish(his words not mine) Cragers that will be included with the car. These have been stored and never installed. I hope to bring the car home this weekend and I will post additional pics when we pull it out

The goal is to get it home and see if i can get it to run. The original fenders were on the second floor of the barn. They have some dents but i think i want to put them back on. i love the original look of the car. The owner could not find the keys so i haven't been able to get into the trunk to see what treasure is in there. The owner also has the white Hurst 4 speed ball to give me . i will be posting more pics and possibly video of the car being removed from the barn,

Barn finds candidate for MCACN.

Yes, MCACN Barn Finds EXACTLY as-is! Don't wash it, flat tires and all!

Congrats on a great find! (You might say I'm a bit partial to '67 Chevelles )

Very cool barn find. That is wild to see it was stored all the years with the barn door open.
"And another", (see they are still out there). Thanks for posting

The car didn’t fit into the barn so the door was left open. A blue tarp was hung in the door way to conceal the car. Surprisingly the car is not in that bad of shape for being on a dirt floor in the northeast

update - went to prep the car for its 1st trip out of the barn today. my goal was to get the tires either inflated or changed so we could roll the car out. I was partially successful - inflated 3 of the 4 tires. Both rear tires and the right front tire were inflated - the left front (the original Crager) valve stem broke off as soon as I tired to inflate. to make matters worse - there is a wheel lock on it with an old style key. the owner believes the key is on the same ring as the rest of the keys - the ones he cant find!!!

also - I was able to open the center console (hoped the keys were in there - they weren't !!). I have attached a picture of the contents.

More good news - the owner has the original 8 track player that is missing from under dash and he is going to include it with the car!! The goal is to bring it home on Friday

The Chevelle arrived at its new home.

Had some great conversation with the prior owner Jerry today (that's him in the pictures) while waiting for the flatbed. Jerry told me how "everyone" painted the underside of their cars white and painted the brake drums green - so you could see them behind the Cragers

very cool

is that white paint on the rear and gas tank?

I remember cars jacked up high on air shocks with white rear ends and gas tanks :)

Slob44
07-06-2019, 01:42 PM
Yes that is white paint (what’s left of it) on the rear and gas tank. The previous owner added air shocks, spring spacers and painted the underneath white and the brake drums green.

We are going to get the trunk open today and see what we find

Saturday was the big day - the trunk opening!

The previous owner lost the keys so we had to resort to child labor. Good thing I have a nephew who is into cars as much as his dad and me! We removed the rear seat and Joe was able to climb thru with a socket and remove the bolts to the latch. Here are the pictures of the contents. the previous owner was quite proud of his "upgrades"
