The gentleman is incorrect. BV most likely came out of a Camaro. You'd need to check the casting date to see if it lines up with the rest of the components, and build date but it probably came from a wrecked Z, or L78 Camaro. Back in the day you just went to the junk yard and swapped the whole rear. Or the guy could be a real fine fellow, and re stamped one. Either way. Not original, born with rear (unless re stamp).

No M22's either according to the chart.

If he has the protecto plate it would say what rear & trans it came with correct?

The M-22 was a 'solid lifter' engine only option...as for the rear gears, as others have pointed out, they didn't put 4.10 gears behind the 350/300 motor.

I would just ask him to prove his claims by sending or showing you the transmission and rear end stampings. The trans would have to have the VIN and the rear would have to be the correct date range. Of course paperwork or a POP would be nice...

Please post the ad link so we can see this 'rare' car...

i believe thats an m-22,correct?

The 'C' is for M-22...the rest of the stamping indicates January 21st, 1969 assembly date. So, does that VIN stamp match the deck stamp on the block and does the date line-up with cowl tag??

Maybe this is an original big block car that someone installed a small block :hmmm:

I would like to see the listing and the photos...

.

That would explain the trans and rear gear, although the BB engine code would be on the POP (if real)

i believe thats an m-22,correct?

Maybe a possibility they could order a M22 trans through the dealer request? I have heard of stories like this people asked the dealer if they could add something that was not listed.

Whenever I see a dimestore booster on a restored car I shake my head. Certainly not the worst I’ve seen, but $40 large for a small block (Non Yenko) Nova is nosebleed money in my opinion.

Its looks like a nice car, but NOT 40K nice for my standards.

Don't see to many legit SB SS gen 2's.

How can you tell it has the correct block?
I sent him a PM asking for engine pad/block photos on FB days ago.
He has read it & has yet to reply back.

Unless someone managed to order it from the factory with the drive line listed, I would have suggested it's been transplanted perhaps? Does the car have a POP?

As far as values go, my opinion might be a bit biased as I recently bought a low mile 70 SS that was very clean, but these cars have always been under valued in my book. Maybe it's just time they started to creep up on the value board like the second gen Camaro's have.

GM production records for a 1969 Nova show 682 M22’s installed and all are in L78’s only.

M21’s installed in L34’s and L78’s

thats why i questioned the ad originally but doesnt the m-22 look correct?

Mr70
07-27-2019, 05:38 PM
As has been said earlier, the M-22 & 4.10 are probably original to this Nova, but the 350cid. block I suspect is not.
Wish he would just post it's pics,as he's posted pics of everything else..which may be why he isn't.
