Nice looking car!
It needs the polished trim rings if it was coded for the "steelie" "450" Hemi rims and dog dish caps. It's a T/A only thing :)

This T/A looks great in so many ways! Surprised (but I defer to yr Mopar expertise) that a road racer would have trim rings - those would be the 1st things ejected after some spirited driving in the twisties!!! I think it looks great as is, i.e. more business-like. One of the best hood scoops ever!

GLWS - checks lots of boxes!!!

Trim rings not installed after resto / but are included, so as not to sractch the wheels. Does look tougher w/o them IMO.

Yes, on the T/A's, if the Rallye wheel option wasn't ordered, the standard wheel was the black Hemi 15x7 "450" steelie with dog dish and the polished trim rings. No other Mopar offered that. Can't remember if the Cuda AAR's had Rallye wheels standard....I believe they did.

Unlike the Challenger R/T - you had to order the Rallye dash as an option.

dumb question, but weren't the rallye wheels part of the T/A package?

No, code 450 steelies and poverty caps with trim rings. Rallyes optional. You had to step over to Plymouth's AAR to get standard Rallyes on a Trans-Am car

Correct, I had a friend who bought one new, virtually identical to the one Stefano has for sale here. It had the dog dish caps and trim rings on steel wheels, as well as the standard (non-rallye) dash/instrumentation.
