I don't care for the powder coated parts. That's not a correct restoration to me.

No luck finding it but pretty sure there was a thread here on this car some years back?:hmmm:
BJ sale price seems ridiculous also even if alum' head story true, note they were added during an engine rebuild at some point well after dealer delivery, not before sale date or day two.:dunno:

I'm curious why isn't the water pump painted orange? Don't think I've seen a RESTORED BB with a bare/aluminium? water pump.

The Lead Sled is a 1969.

I have been unable to find any photos of a 1968 L72 Biscayne Wagon

I believe he was referring to these stats:

L72 68 production

As follows:
Models 15411 - 15611. 2 dr Biscayne combined with 2 dr bel airs: 219 units

does anyone know the car in original post whereabouts?

Vern B

If the story is true as written, it says the "third and final owner" is from Ohio.

Also, it says the aluminum heads were installed while the car was in the dealership for warranty work. They were ordered installed by the original owner who was killed in Vietnam, so that had to be fairly early in the cars life. It leads you to believe there is documentation for installation of the heads, so there may be a date there??

230 plus commissions for an L72 68 Biscayne? Obviously at least 2 people had to much to drink or got in a pissing contest over who had the most money to throw away. Oh well maybe it makes my 35,000 miles L72 Biscayne worth more.

There's at least 2 black L72 '68 Biscaynes known. The other is in Western New York.

Didn’t mean to hijack your post. I don’t know anything about this car. How did you determine that the description is fake?

We read the original post but apparently none of us know where it is at or know the car. I do like the color and it presents itself very well in my opinion.

Interesting that the Biscayne in question here has a "disc brake" brake pedal pad clearly visible in the interior photo, but it has steel wheels with dog dish caps. As the steel wheels would not fit over the 4 piston calipers used on the '68's, does this car still have disc brakes or were the calipers changed to '69 style single piston calipers?

Yes, I've seen it, the POP and watched as it goes through stages of restoration. It's owned by a good friend of mine (Charlie) and the person I bought my Caprice from. Charlie has been touch with the original owner. The '68s resto is a little slow since he's is also working on his all steel 1940 Willys coupe.
