Control arm was dipped in paint after assm. Then the ball joint was installed...Joe

What I saw when I went through the Van Nuys plant in 1990 and 1992 was the control arms already had the ball joints installed. They were dipped in the paint but left the end with the ball joint unpainted. There was a definite line where the paint stopped right before the ball joint.
On the bushing washers, I agree they were painted black.

Believe that started with the 1970 model year.
We used to stock upper control arms; they were furnished with the ball joint installed after paint less shaft, bushings and hardware.

The a arm in the picture has a 67 , 68 dome style ball joint . I thought Lloyd was restoring a 69?
Here is a 1969 ball joint. August of 69 car.

Those are not the same . If you clean the grease off you can see the difference. The rivets look good .
