I will share this story about my uncle Vern as this reminds me alot of him
He survived D-Day on the beaches of Normandy. he's now 98 and you would never know it. He is still with us. This summer he was one of only 15 guys that attended the 75th ceremony that actually saw combat action on the beach. He never got even a scratch out of it. Said he never even thought about it. Had a job to do.
