I’ve found a 67 Camaro in Pictou and can’t find anyone in the area to hire to go see the car for me. Anyone know a mechanic in the area that I could have the owner visit for a quick inspection? They don’t have to know Camaros, just want a quick visual and listen to it run.

Here is a picture of the car and it’s not the Z 😀

Yes, Ryan. RS SS350 still with the original owner.

I have lots of family down east I sent a few notes to see.

PS: Just buy it. If the original owner from Nova Scotia CANADA embellishes about the condition that would be a first.

PPS: 4 speed? M20? (That would be too much of a jackpot)

PPPS: this car would have VVS docs!!!

Thanks Ryan. No, power glide...but all original paperwork and the original wheels and tires.

My grandmother’s, friends, son is checking if his mechanic will do an onsite inspection. :-)

The NS honour system is in place, if you don’t treat them right Gramdma will take you over a knee. (I’ve been there, she is small but nightly)

Maybe worth putting a messgae on Canadian Poncho as there are a few easterners on that site.

Thanks. If Ryan’s contact doesn’t work I found a guy on the Maritimes Classics page that will do it. Thanks for all of the help and suggestions!

Red vert in the background Roger. Ironically, I’ve had that pic of the Z for a few years now and never noticed the vert until last night!

Let’s hope so! It’s a bit of a convoluted deal, so I am a little nervous. Haven’t heard anything yet today...

Mark is it not worth your while to jump on a plane and fly out yourself? I'm in Ottawa and Nova Scotia is only 45 minutes from me to fly. You're in Ontario also so wouldn't be any more than 60-75 minutes.

I stopped doing that after a wild goose chase to a Dallas. Got off the plane, drove 30 minutes to see the car and got back on the exact same plane before it took off again! Car was not as described and I was out $1,000. Now I just hire someone local for a couple of hundred bucks.

Haven’t heard anything back from the seller, so I am wondering what the deal is. He told me he bought 2 cars off the original owner of the Camaro and only wanted the other car. He hadn’t even picked them up yet, so I am hoping he is doing that today and that’s why I haven’t heard from him.

Well, Here’s the update...crickets! It’s been a week since my last conversation with the seller asking for trim tag pics and a few other items. I mentioned that I noticed that the car has an RS horn cap and wanted to confirm it was actually an SS as back in the 70’s, we put SS hoods and emblems on RS and base Camaros, but many left the horn buttons because they were harder to find. “Sure, no problem I’ll get those pics today...”. So, I don’t know if I was correct, or it was a scam, or if he found another buyer?

Thanks to all who offered help and especially Ryan!

Any time, I still owe a thousand car favours to the SYC kharma bank!!

Thanks! I’m only half-assed looking actually. In a few years I’ll sell my Pan and stop riding, then I’ll get another old car. For now I want something that I will drive more on a regular basis, so I put a deposit on a C8 Corvette yesterday.
