All members have been a great help to date.
Can any one tell me or post a pic. Does a 1970 camaro and nova received rear speaker jute insulation (box)?
I have a 1970 camaro with am/fm and a single rear speaker
Also a 1970 nova with am, single rear speaker and rear fader option, would that receive insulation over the rear speaker.
How do they secure insulation cover to speaker, clip or bolt and washer.

Thank you Todd

Yes, they do.
They speaker frame had a single 1/4-20 stud that extended front the center down.

The box had a hole that slipped over the stud and a stamped steel wing nut secured it on.

The 1970 and 71's had a unique speaker grill that was a rectangle with welded in studs. sometime in 71 the corners were rounded. 69's were rectangles, but the studs were separate. They are a bit hard to find.

The strap is the same used to hold on the emblem to cover window crank hole. Ames still sells the box and the strap. Boxes have the jute glued on. Boxes may not be OG these days. May be repop. The bracket pop rivets on the speaker. I may have one on a bad speaker.

Burd, you lost me with the strap being the same that holds the emblem cover to the window crank. I’m not familiar with Ames, either.
All else make sence,100%

Lol, speaking F body, if you have power windows, there’s a hole in the door card, they put a emblem in there to cover the crank hole, The retainer is same as speaker box.
Go to the Ames perf and look up the parts you need.
