I need to know the correct finish of the transmission kick down harness clip that attaches the harness to block. It is shown as item 5 in UPC M40 A8. Wikiparts lists it with a latex finish (which I'm assuming to be rubber) yet all of the repro companies list it as natural steel.

If anyone has an original clip installed on their car and could have a quick look at it for me I'd appreciate it!

BTW...this is for a '68 L35/M40 car.

Thanks,

Bob

Here you go. Theres a rubber coating on it. Ask Rich (Enoch) if he has another one.

Thank you! Just placed an order with Heartbeat City along with a bunch of other odds and end I needed so I’ll just use some Plasti Dip on it and call it a day.

Thanks again!

The diagram shows the bolt holding the clip in place as a transmission mounting bolt. I don't believe that the clip shown will work for that. I think that particular trans wire clip is bigger.

Maybe Bill Pritchard has a picture from his unrestored 69?

This is the one that I’ve ordered from HCB.

https://www.heartbeatcitycamaro.com/store/product/12748/67-68-Camaro-Backup-Lamp-%26-Reverse-Light-Switch-Wiring-Harness-Strap-GM%23-2404001/

It does look a tad bit bigger and even though the description reads for use with Muncie transmission, the description of the kick down harness on their website states that this is the correct clip to use.

For $7 thought I would give it a try.

You did the same thing I did...chasing the correct clip. Here you go, a pic of mine in use.
