A big congrats to Dave M. for recently finishing his upgrade to Captain at American. That is a big deal for a career pilot. Dave and I flew together back in 2001 at TWA and have been friends ever since. You couldn't ask for a better guy to fly in the left seat of a plane you are flying in.

Congrats Dave!!!

Man, I’m speechless! Thanks, Phil...and everyone!!! I remember that trip well when we met, Phil. I come stumbling into PIT after Deadheading in to start out, met you downstairs awaiting the arrival of our Jurrasic Jet, the mighty JT-8D powered Diesel -9. You had just driven into the trip since you were flying the Hercs out of there (I think?:hmmm:) and you commented, “Hey, we are overnighting in Cedar Rapids, and I don’t know if you’re into classic cars or not, but there’s this place called Duffy’s I was going to check out and...” And the rest is history!!!:burnout:

Phil is the coolest captain out there, and we all learn from the best, my man!:flag: The compliments you extend to me are a reflection of the impression you made on that new First Officer knowing one day I’d be hoping to be the same kind of Captain you are!:scholar::worship::biggthumpup::biggthumpup:

Cheers to yous guys!:beers:

Thanks men! One thing I’m excited about going back to the 737 is the variety of layovers I’ll get so I can see more friends around the country. The 757/767 while cool, was very limited with where it flew to.

So now I can hit some cities and see some car buds from this site:3gears: Cleveland/Columbus for the “Ohio Mafia”, Seattle for Tom406, Charlotte for Sixt9rsx33, South FL for Markinnaples and BillOhio, Knoxville for Cook_dw (or is that Nashville??:hmmm:), PHX for Bruce and the Pavillion’s Group, Toronto for the “Canadian Connection” and as I travel around and come to a city near you, let’s meet for some BS and a Brew! Hey, I should start a sticky thread: “Where’s Super Dave?” I’ll update it hourly and if I’m coming to a city near you, hit the “Beer” button on the SuperDave App (coming soon:rolleyes2:) for a free brew coupon!

OK, maybe the latter won’t really happen, but it will be nice to see friends around the country again.:cool2:

Thanks again for the well wishes guys!

Cheers:beers:
Dave

Well done, you.

Two pilots in my family: my eldest son is a pilot for Delta, and his wife is a pilot for Spirit.

Both were captains in their respective regionals (SkyWest and American) but had to move over a seat when they got into the majors.

We like to call Detroit “Day-Twah” which has a more sophisticated ring to it and makes it appear that we’re headed to some sort of vacation destination!:cool2: “Boooownjuorno, und velcome to yer same day Turbojet service to Day-Twah.” Sorta throw in a mix of French, German, and a Southern twang to confuse everyone!:hmmm:

I’ll do that for sure, Bill when I’m up there.

When you headed to headed down there, Doug?

Thanks Again guys!!! Phillytown too so I can see my brother from another mother, Frank!:3gears:

I'm flying American all the time from Sacramento to Phoenix. Should I be worried about looking up and seeing your mug ? Short flight and sometimes I manage to doze off since I'm so old but now I'm not so sure.
