Those things are neat, a close friend of mine has one and uses it as a beach crawler in NC.

Lee - Yup, a blast! Very capable. Sold it to a fellow in Monterey who is giving it to his father-in-law as a surprise. We have owned it for 18 yrs and enjoyed the heck out of it particularly while living in AZ and hitting the trails regularly. Taught both boys to drive a stick at age 14 in the desert!

How much does that thing weigh? That would be a consideration when transporting.

So our ol’ PINZ headed out to its new owner in Monterey, CA early this morning and Abbey was none too pleased to see her favorite ride head down the street! BTW, this fellow impressed me and if you need an open haul between right and left coasts, you may want to consider him (new Pinz owner tracked him down):

LARRY DEVILBISS

Westminster, MD

He knows how to secure a load, had a good attitude, and a sweet tow rig and trailer (well taken care of).

Good reference, Sam! Poor pup. Why the sale? Just not using it? Not expecting anyone to invade Dayton anytime soon?:hmmm:

Congrats on the sale! Glad the shipping worked out for you.

Cheers:beers:

Dave - we still used it (not as much as in AZ with all of the wonderful off-road opportunities). But, we have planned for a few years to get my wife, Lori, her long held wish which is to have a vintage Geländewagen. BTW, these “G” wagens are made in the same factory in Graz Austria (Arnie’s home town) as our Pinzgauer (similar genetics). With a/c these G’s will give us four season use and with the 5 speed and rear gearing will allow us to cruise at highway speeds for weekend jaunts.

Also digging the legendary durability with a Mercedes bullet-proof diesel backed by a 5 speed manual and stellar 4x4 off-road capability with locking diffs. Something like this.....

( Am always ready for the BIG invasion! :hmmm: :naughty: :confused2:  )

When I was stationed in W. Berlin very early 80's a buddy of mine was in the USMLM in Potsdam. They used the G-Wagons.

Parkbrau - Capable/durable lil' b*stards! Looks like you stayed on in DE. Of course Stuttgart is a nice area (reminds me of Pittsburgh some).
