Looking for the identification and application of this Muncie 4 speed shifter. One rod has 1437, one 1438, and other one 2535 on it. They all appear to be original to the shifter. It has a black and chrome knob. It came on a 4 speed I bought awhile back. Thanks, Larry 520-349-2337

My guess is 1968 to 1972 Chevelle
Handle is console but top ball is Non Console or Bench seat IMO
My 1970 Assembly hear at home has the same part numbered rods.

shifter looks like Nova with console also fits 67-68 Camaro

it has the second design Reverse detent

It has large slot trans levers for 69-72

68 used small slot trans levers

no Munice trans in 72 Nova

so shifter looks like Nova 69-71 with console

rods and levers may be Chevelle 69-72

Larry,

Shifter rods in my Oct '69 parts book show 3931437 1st & 2nd, 3931438 reverse, 3922535 3rd & 4th. Parts book says 68-69 Chevelle w/4spd (327 Sp. H.Per., 350, 396) (exc 2BC).

Might also fit '70 up Chevelles but this is a '69 parts book.

If you can get a partial part number off of the shifter handle, I will look that up for you.

I'm not seeing any numbers on the handle or the body of the shifter. The ears have 1-2, 3-4, and on reveres 289 maybe 2891 on them. Thanks for your input. Larry

Its not a Chevelle or Impala shifter , they had bolt on chrome sticks
Camaro Nova had welded on chrome sticks

the rods and levers are not correct for that shifter

That shifter is a mixture of Chevelle rods and levers and a Camaro - Nova Shift body.
The rods are 68-72 Chevelle and the levers are 69-72 because of the bolt on design of the levers for 69-up Muncies.
The shifter Body looks like Early Camaro or Nova due to the 1 piece handle but I'm sure there are guys here that can tell you exactly what it fits.
