NOM but appears to have the original rear. The MacNeish certificate says that 'according to our database and historical Chevrolet records, this car is an original L78....' - if that's a GM of Canada doc he's referring to, I wonder why it isn't posted anywhere in the auction?

What's with those hexagon billet tie rod sleeves on a restored car?

Page two of the MacNeish report is not shown. It usually tells you Vehicle Component Issues, Original Components and Options. Missing parts are $$$ to replace with authentic pieces. If you're in to that kind of thing. :naughty:

----Mershon is the selling dealer and he generally has middle of the road decent cars. I'd hate to end up with this car though and be confronted with fixing that bad stripe job......Bill S

I have used those before. I think I have a set to put on my Z. They really don't bother me, as they can be swapped back out in short order. They do stiffen up the steering a bit. Given how these cars feel compared to a modern car, every little bit helps.
Hopefully they saved the originals.

That's boilerplate on his reports.

Shouldn't this car have power brakes, being a 396 built after January? (CRG)

I didn't realize PB became a mandatory option in 1968 - would this have been for 396 cars only? Anecdotally my March built L78 does have power drums.

I just did a bunch of research on this and found both backing documentation and backing cars - starting Jan 68, 396 cars needed power brakes.
