This is not supercar related and may not even be car related but I'm hoping someone here may be able to help. I know there are people here from all walks of life and maybe the right eyes will see this post.

I have been buying parts out of the estate of a machine shop owner/hot rodder/hoarder for about 6 years and the daughter is just about finished clearing the place out. Being a machine shop owner, the man had quite a few rebuilt engines that he had either built for projects or customers dropped them off, he rebuilt them, and they never came back to pick them up.

This 4 cylinder engine was stashed away and all wrapped up. It has no casting numbers other than the logo shown and a casting mark and a few numbers on the crank. This could be out of a car, boat, forklift, or some other type of machinery. Does anyone have any insight on what this may be?

Thanks!

Jason

Thanks guys! I will look at Mazda blocks and see if I can find a match. I agree Mark, I thought Holman Moody at first glance too. Hopefully it will end up being something someone can use since it is fresh.

The amount of stuff that was at this place was pretty amazing. There was something like 30 semi and sea containers stacked full of blocks, heads, and others parts. Many just got sent to scrap unfortunately. The property value is pretty high and I think the daughter is just ready to move on with life. I really can’t blame her. The good news is the property value has definitely increased since she has been clearing it out.
