I came across this ad in Hemmings that sounded interesting...I reached out to the owner (owned it for 17 years, restored) I asked if I could share with you all and he said post it.
His email is

No sir. I just found it in Hemmings online. I called the owner and got his permission to post it here so that you all could check it out. He mentioned that he is not so handy with this stuff so I volunteered to help him out.

I see the car wears a By Berger emblem... wonder if the car was bought new at Berger? Sure hope so. I might email the seller, but I don’t want to waste his time kicking tires.
How much might it affect the value of this car given that the dealer engine transplant was done after the car was a year old? If he has the documentation, which he seems to, I wouldn’t let that bother me... but I believe there is a stigma about that?

One picture? Seriously?
And that's the 80,000 dollar shot? :naughty:

Seller says the car was originally sold at Hal Greene Chevrolet, but no dealer documentation. Berger put the L-88 in 2-14-69, and the seller has that invoice only.
There are four pics at the other link. I know... that’s still not going to get him $80k.

If it was completely original and all together as a matching number 396 car...what would the money be on it?
Also, is it a real black car?
