Back in December I had the wonderful opportunity to work with the Mecum Auctions team again. What I saw out in North Carolina was the largest and most diversified collection of high quality Road Art I have ever seen, along with some prime cars, owned by a fine gentleman by the name of Eddie Vannoy.
In this video, you can meet Eddie and he tells a bit about it. On Saturday, 4-11, you can see a full program on NBC/SN at 2:00 ET featuring this amazing collection...and you can see what I had to say about it too! Check it out and forget about all the insanity we are all dealing with now, if even for a little while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDipcTVzSe4

When I got to see it I was on the Good-Guys Hall of Fame Tour and it was one of our stops. There was probably 35 cars on the tour. It was a treat. Not open to the public as far as I know.

I wonder if the auction won't be postponed....unless things get a whole lot better real soon (hopefully, but unlikely), many potential buyers may stay away, and you don't want that in a no-reserve situation.

I happened to watch that yesterday Bob quite by accident as I was looking for something car wise and saw this advertised so gave it a look see. I was in awe of the magnitude of items. Just thinking of the time and money to acquire all that is impressive. And wonder what amount of current goes into his building with all those electrical panels.

Eddie built the facility from the ground up specifically to house his collection. It has a air filtration system and of course, is fully climate controlled. Also note that there are virtually no electrical lines visible. The place is spotless and clearly, it is a labor of love.
He is a really neat guy, and never collected as an investment. i think he did exactly what many of us would do if we had the means...and the staff!
It was truly an honor.
