Cool story - seller is selling his dad's old '65 that was bought new in Chattanooga (check out the dealer decal on the decklid), wrecked in '66, and never saw the road again. The body sure looks clean....

Can't say I can remember seeing another '65 L79 Chevelle with factory air.

Great color combo, low miles, and no reserve...currently bid to $3,100. Guessing this one might eclipse $10k given the cool story. I know that if it were mine, I'd be restoring it and not unloading it....

This one has been bid to $6k with a little less than one day to go. I spoke to the seller and this does seem like a real-deal low mile example, albeit a big project. I'd jump on it if I had the time and patience to take on another body-off restoration. The seller sent me some pics of the upholstery after some cleaning, and it seems these parts have very little wear. Pretty cool car IMO.

Looks like it sold for $7877. It would part out for more than that. I wonder if the replacement frame was the z-16 design. I don’t know enough to know one way or the other.

----Jason,,,Just look at the inside of the main rails. If they are boxed, not open, its a convert frame which is also a Z16 frame......Bill S

Thank you Bill,

For some reason, I thought the Z16 frame was similar to a convertible frame but not the same. Either way, hopefully the car gets restored.

The Z-16 did not use the same convertible frame. It was boxed like a convertible frame though, but not the convertibles frame.
