Seen it many times, cars are left for various reasons and some are legit.
Notice it's sitting in the bush, probably far from sight or a road and it's just an Impala wagon with NO CALLOUTS on the front fenders!!! So even if a "car guy" was walking through looking at stuff, and didn't open the hood, would think it's just a SB wagon.
Back 30 years ago, I was driving through a town about 1/2 from home with a buddy. We came upon a nice '69 Blue GTX that we have never seen in that town before. Stopped and talk to the owner. IT WAS NOT FOR SALE he said. He was just getting it ready to go to storage for a long time. Seems the owner had some sort of run in with THE LAW and was told to expect to be away for 15 or so years in jail. He had a place to store it and said it was going to be his motivation to do right and get out and have his car back again. Never seen it again.....

That car is well known and has been completely restored. I forget the back story.

I was in contact with the owner for quite a long time. I wasn't aware that the restoration was completed. I believe he bought another body to use.
