I attended the last Super Chevy show they had at Orange County Raceway in May 1983. I found some coverage of that show later that year or the early next year. I was thinking it was in another magazine other than Super Chevy. What other magazine did show coverage for their shows? Thank you, Joe

This is a guess, but it might have been Popular Hot Rodding as they were owned by the same company.

Didn’t Car Craft/HotRod host Street Machine Nationals? I remember the dates for DuQuoin, IL always clashed with Bloomington Gold.

Thanks for all the help. The issue I was looking for was Aug 1993 Popular Hot Rodding. There is 2 small pictures of my 69 SS396 Camaro in there at OCIR. Just wanted to make sure that issue didn't get accidently tossed out...Joe

Car craft was like $10 a year for the mag. Good deal. And you always got a freebie.

I'm in Tucson Bruce. Sheri said she could do it tomorrow. This is the same car you took pictures of at Firebird possibly the same year. I also did the Super Run in Las Vegas in Aug 1983 with both of my Camaros. Busy year. Thank you, Joe

Here's the couple of pictures. Not real exciting but in 1983 I was about 25 years old & it was pretty thrilling to recognize you own car in a national magazine. I restored it incorrectly so today it cost extra moneys to do it again. For one, I didn't realize then that black was the only color with Daytona yellow. I had those repainted a year or so after that...Joe

I was at that 1983 OCIR show as well. I remember a black '67 RS with white stripes that was claimed to be a '67 Z-28 but I don't think it was legit. It had 14x6 rally wheels up front and 15x8s in the rear. I also remember a car that lost control on the drag strip and went into the unoccupied stands, unless that was from a different time.

I think I took a picture of that black car. No clue where those pictures are. I know I took a picture of a 1966 Acadia sports deluxe...black...Joe
