Tapping into the wealth of knowledge and experience here, to ask what were the most popular Day 2 fuel pressure gauges to mount on the hood or cowl vent in the late 60's/early 70's? What size gauges, and were they cup-mounted or just bracketed?
Thanks in advance!

Certainly no expert but I'd guess SW & Sun
Here is my SW fuel gauge.
Edit: Sorry Failed to comment on the rest of your post as I was searching for my photo I added below. Yes Cup mount was more common as Jim mentioned below from what I have seen as well. I'd have to measure mine but I believe its 2 5/8" going off the top of my head.

I'm no expert by any stretch but with all the photos I look at on a daily basis it seems that late 60's/early '70's stuff tended to be cup mounted and the late '70's/'80's were open brackets

The ones I have seen are single Stewart Warner mounted with a single under dash chrome bezel flipped over and mounted to the cowl.

The Sun blue lines in a Chrome Cup are what I use based on looks only , but the SW’s work way better !

Restored gauge and cup...glass face, not plastic.

Thanks everyone. Have got some thinking ahead of me about what gauges to put back on, and where to mount them. I found a 60's aluminum deck-mount tach tube to put the Sun blue line 9k tach back where it was in '71, so that detail's sorted. The cowl vent has a couple of holes in the ribs right in front of the driver, so figured that was for a fuel pressure gauge. Other gauges fitted in the dash area are SW (water temp and oil pressure) so I guess going with Sun or SW would fit the period.

Interesting about the Sun gauge it looks very nice...where did you source the glass face for your fuel pressure gauge ?

Good Evening All,
I tinker with Sun Gauges. I have lots of them.
I change out the plastic lenses and put glass in there instead !!!
I’ve had custom faces made too. Changed higher pressure gauges to read FUEL for EFI applications.

From what I have seen SW fuel only for drag racing on cowl and Sun fuel and vacuum with chrome cups on cowl for street machines.
Always seemed like the drag racers preferred SW and later Auto Meter.

Hey Dave,
I have no idea, but I’d bet they did.
I’ll look into it, in between rounds of golf and while in quarantine 😜

Dom,
Thanks for looking. Your grille was replaced in the 67 as its not painted and the SS emblem
is off to the side and not drilled.
I have the catalog...I should look to see if it was made.

Dave,
That picture is 40 freakin years old 😢
I certainly didn’t know anything about the grille back then🤣
All I knew was to mash the gas and shift the Hurst Auto Stick 1 that controlled the Vitar Turbo 400 😬

Looks like in the '68 catalog Fuel pressure was only available in a Black and White face for 2 5/8". It also bugs me that SW never made a Black and White face 2 5/8" Voltmeter like SUN.

Thanks for all the comments and pictures. I've decided to go with a SW to match the oil pressure and temp gauges that were in the car (below) when it was raced. But they'll be mounted together on the cowl vent to keep the fuel gauge out of the passenger compartment.
They're only ~2" across the face, but should be visible in line of sight, and I really like the simple look of this style gauge.
