I hope some of you fellas can help me out. I've had an aluminized steel chambered exhaust sitting for a few years waiting for me to install it on my 69 Z28. System has IMCO stamped on it. I don't have the correct, or even close to the correct hardware and hangers yet. I found the exhaust pages in the A.I.M. but I wanted to ask here first what hardware you used. I found a few bolt related items on AMK, but not the whole works. Looks like there are bolts, nuts, washers, and what looks like 4 sheet metal type screws for the wrap around type brackets at the tail pipes. What are you using for a decent daily driver car? Mine is un-restored, and not SO perfect I absolutely need factory OEM hardware as long as I have form and function, and it doesn't look crappy. Also I have been looking at the D & R hanger kit for the hangers, but not sure of the clamps in their kit. D & R do offer the guillotine style clamps like I have seen on some systems along with the saddle style, but not sure about what to use there. This system I have is fairly thick and heavy too, and have actually seen some systems lacking clamps, with welds in some cases.
I'm using the manifolds currently, and may end up using the headers I have at some point, but I'm looking to that after I have what I need to hang everything first and then I'll take on whether I want to cut my pipes for headers.

Others will chime in, but I believe that Gardner's deluxe chambered hanger kit is about the best

Gardner will not sell a hanger kit or clamp kit. Complete exhaust system only!! Been there already. Bought a complete exhaust from D&R years ago, which fit well with no issues. There hanger kit and correct clamp kit are good also, close enough to factory.
If Gardner has you on record as previously buying at least one entire exhaust system from them, they'll sell you seperate pieces for it later on.
At least that's been my experience with them.

Curious if hardware is supplied, nuts and bolts, etc to go with the hanger kit. That is what I want to get correct or at least what is close, looking.

I took a parts store hanger, and welded a piece onto it and shaped it from photos to simulate the factory dirver side hanger. Also had to weld in a dual exhaust plate.

Does Delaware consider chambered exhaust - straight exhaust system?

Give D&R Classic a call, they might have the correct hardware. They didn't come with the hangers years back. Gardner will not sell you the hardware only.

LOL!!! You would be surprised what Delaware will pass and not pass. My heavy street 66 Chevy II had turbo mufflers on it when I owned it in the late 80's and DMV flagged me for over 102 DB...but, I see all kinds of customs and pro built, and quite loud cars around so who the heck really knows. I've heard here when it comes to inspections it's who you know. My car is tagged ANTIQUE since I don't seem to have the luck some have with noise, I don't have to officially take it in for inspection after it was initially checked for the antique staus.
