Hi Guys, I would like (if possible) to install a period 1960's Hurst Reverse Loc Out lever in my 1969 Camaro. Its a Day 2 build. I do have a console with gauges that I would like to keep in place. I have an after market Hurst shifter installed. I've seen just the Loc Out Lever sold separately and love the look of them. My question is: anyone currently using an old style Hurst Loc Out??? any issues with clearances of the console when installed? I'm ok with some light trimming of inside of console, just don't want to start any real heavy cutting. If anyone has a good working setup, please let me know which Loc out lever you are using. Many Thanks for any input. ROB

The console with definitely need some trimming.
Dan
I don't think you can put one in without some cutting. Would love if someone could prove me wrong. I have not messed with one in decades.
Maybe a way to remote mount?

My advice, make a faux lever. No one will be the wiser. Make sure it is out of the way and not interfering with shifter. Sounds like you want the “look”, but not willing to give up the bling (console). There is a paradox going on here. Extra levers just don’t seem compatible with a console without some serious hacking ( never tried this setup, so not giving 1st hand experience). That is unless you really need a functional one?

Why not just take the top plate off and fit it. you could be a used top plate on ebay for $50 or $60 and trim that one if needed.
