Wes,
In no particular order...If I were to nominate a few cars from this venue, they would of course include Grady's Day II Copo Camaro as featured here on sYc.
https://www.yenko.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=165031&stc=1&d=1588183244
Another choice would be a street driven car owned by Vince McAdam who is also a member of the site and has this beautiful Day II Camaro SS that I simply drool over.
https://i.ibb.co/BTqQpjM/Day-2-3.jpg
My final choice would be for Sam Griffith's Day II 69 Chevelle which is the best looking Chevelle I think have ever seen (in Black of course).
https://www.yenko.net/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=124340&stc=1&d=1541291745
These would all make a worthy candidate for a cover car in my humble opinion. Can't wait to see what you put out on the Day II subject and will be watching.

Of course...Rob's X66 car would be another heavy hitter to be considered. One look at it with those Cragar's and the Lakewood Bar state it all right there.

Those are some incredible cars. If we’re talking cover photo material, it takes some serious day-two “commitments” to earn that honor. My vote (not that it counts), goes toward a car with a day-two paint scheme or a serious diamond tuck interior in addition to the usual bolt-on items like wheels and ladder bars. Graeme’s old day-two Nova is quite the example.

There’s something to be said about day-two authenticity. This 300 Deluxe Post Sedan SS received a very stout 427 along with the L88 style hood and numerous other performance modifications by the original owner in the early 70’s. Even the tires are still the originals that he put on these torq thrusts back when the car was new.

I liked it better with the Cragar's which were true to its original street days of the '70s and '80s in Cleveland (seen in this first photo from 1973). The second picture is how it looked last year when I freshened the car with the tow tabs and the Lakewood roll bar added. Paint is still the original scheme from the early '70s painted by Ron Badiu in Cleveland. It was a bad assed streetcar back in its day but still holds true to that too!

Thanks Ryan! Technically, the L89 modifications were done at the dealership. Other than the wheels, tires and stance... the performance mods aren’t noticeable until you pop the hood... or until you drive it ;-)

Go the extra mile and find a pic taken back in the day for the cover, not a new digital photo of a restored Day 2 car. That's just my 2 cents...this one showed up tonight on the 70s MuscleCars facebook page

I drove it for one year on the street in it’s SS/DA ‘War Paint’ scheme in 1984. Heads spun and thumbs up were plentiful. Then I got stupid and had the paint stripped down to bare metal. Sometimes I regret having done that even though the 35 year old paint still looks new thanks to Mike White of Media, Pa.

The cool thing about the Grady COPO is he was driven to only use period date correct pieces on his build, right down to the roll control switch.
Lots of great cars to chose from, I would hate to have to make this decision.

I figured I would include some photo attributes from my Day 2 ‘69L89/427. Hope you guys like these pics. All of them have been on the car since 1970.
The Tarantula manifold and heat shield.
Un-rebuilt Hurst Line-Lok
Stahl gear-driven tach...(yes, that is a red tell-tale saying where the R’s left off)
B+M reverse valve body shifter with radio delete (who needed a radio?)
Original traction bars with 4 degree wedges and
Aluminum gear cover.

Love the car Jeff and the original day 2 stuff. That Nova I freshened last year has a TM1 intake which was the predecessor to the Tarantula. Great intake!
Moreso, I like it when these Day 2 cars have original and dated items including old school Cragar's. I'm not a fan of the late Model (Flat Spoke) Cragars being put on a car and someone then claiming it as day 2 car.
They are only original once as they say! Your Camaro is a great ride. Love to hear it one of these days. :cool2:

You would be correct that is Van Hurst's COPO. We all went to the "Chevelles in The Smokies" show at Pigeon Forge last February of 2019. There was about 16 Chevelles invited to attend as part of a much larger Corvette show.
