I'm not 100% certain exactly what's for sale here, but it appears this L89 car suffered extensive fire damage and is presumably unfixable without some serious intervention. Unfortunately, the complete VIN isn't posted, but I'll paste the auction description for posterity in case it comes up for sale at some point in the future as a restored car:

"1969 L89 Corvette up for your consideration is a Rare opportunity to own 1of the only 390 produced L89 Corvettes in 1969. Car does have heavy fire damage. Included is the rolling frame and birdcage with the Trim Tag and Vin Tag still attached and together on the car. Most importantly I have the original 427-435hp L89 Block with the Vin# on it. Factory options include but not limited to L89-4sp-ps-pw-F41-411rear end-yellow exterior- black vinyl interior. Sold new at Bob Mcdorman chevrolet in Ohio. There is a big block motor and 4sp transmission in the car not sure of the condition they are out of a passenger car. Approximately around 150 1969 L89 Aluminum Head Convertibles out of the 390 total produced. How many are left ? And how many have the original motor. Car sold AS IS No Guarantees No Warranty Sold with a Salvage title in my name. Please calls only for any questions Dennis at (3one4)458-80one 9. Asking $16,750."

Kinda wonder if this is VIN 194679S712636 as shown in the C3 registry - the info sounds consistent: Link to C3 registry VIN 194679S712636 (https://www.c3registry.com/index.php?job=ShowCorvette&car_id=Zml4ZWRfc3RyaW5nZml4ZVwc0/9t2zUbZAztYWuSS3z{NMds82xZUqVbsG1ZTYxg276obu4esnP1 rFveFisyrA==)

eBay seems to bring out the most peculiar finds...

Spoke with the seller. C3 registry is the same car. Car was in a garage fire. So the seller tracked down the chassis and bought it. Then bought the block and paired it back up. Selling due to having other projects.

So question is, how much does a rebody/donor body affect value of the car? Also the salvage title? They all have a story. And there is only 390 made....

I seem to recall going to one of Bob McDormans' annual car shows and there were pictures of a burnt Corvette. Thought it was a 69 L88 but the memory is fuzzy. It looked REALLY bad. The heads were melted into the block and the only thing left of the tires were the bead rings around the wheels. Everything else was gone except the frame and birdcage. The talk in the group was that it was being "restored".

FWIW... 69 L89 Corvettes are no where CLOSE TO as valuable and several factors easier to find than 69 L89 Camaros.
