We just broke the record for the highest temp for ABQ, NM. Prior record was 105 July 1980.

What is the humidity there Bruce?
I had 116 heat index in Guthrie, OK to day. Temp was barely over 100 (102), but way high on the humidity. I was working on my shop and kept getting dizzy. Had to sit down a couple times. NASTY.

Not as hot as out West, here in Ohio. But Midwest humidity adds to the miserable factor. I write to tell a story. Here goes. As a teen, I would find jobs at gas stations and tire stores to learn more about how to work on cars. One tire store I worked at I still have fond memories of many “initiations” I received as a newbie. The Assistant Manager was a character. One particularly hot week, this manager, Gill, made an exclamation I will never forget. He said, “it’s hotter than a freshly f@&ked fox in a flaming forest fire!” On hot days, that memory brings a smile to my face.

Went to Cabo one year & had to fly out of Sky Harbor (Phx). On the return flight we had to circle for like 3 hours because it was too hot to land at Sky Harbor. That was 35 years ago. things might be different today...Joe

Sorry to hear that you were getting dizzy. Heat is nothing to fool around with.
Our humidity was at 10%...then rose later on as monsoon clouds rolled in...

Thanks for the info bruce. Like I said it was a long time ago. I do remember them saying it was 122. Might've been closer to 1990...Joe
Live safe, more people die from Heat every year then from Cold.
The human body was designed to warm up,better then it was to cool down.

Joe, yes, June 26 1990 it hit 122 degrees in Phoenix, the all time record high temp for Phoenix. Incoming and outgoing flights were halted at Sky Harbor for a while that day.
