View Full Version : 1970 Nova TH400 floor shifter
My Nova has the original floor shifter for the TH400 and is worn out. I was told that the 1968 Camaro used the same shifter. I either need a repro shifter or mine rebuilt. Any suggestions?

that certainly looks like mine! If that's all there is to the shifter mechanism then I'll give it a try. thanks Lee!!

The good old 'Houdini' shifter! Back in the day my friend Rick had a 70 Nova L78 T400 with buckets console and that shifter. He would pull it down into low gear and floor it and when it hit the max 1-2 shift point the trans would shift into 2nd gear and the shifter would move itself into the 2nd gear position without anyone touching it. We all called it 'Houdini'.....great memory!
the picture is exactly like mine except I have the SW gauges in the console
